Abstract:
Soil erosion is agriculture’s enemy: a major environmental threat to sustainability and
productivity with knock-on effects on the climate crisis and food security. Protection against soil
erosion through sustainable land management can solve a multitude of problems.
Soil erosion is a continuous process that occurs either slowly or at an alarming rate. It results in a
continuous loss of topsoil, ecological degradation, soil collapse, among other things. The purpose
of this paper is to discuss the causes, effects, and preventive measures of soil erosion.
