Abstract:
This paper aims to stimulate the polyphenols accumulation in cotton by MeJA and oligossacharide fraction from FOV to increase protection to Fusarium wilt. To do this, cotton plants were treated with different concentrations of fungal fractions and different concentrations of MeJA. Leaves were removed and the polyphenols content was determinate. The concentrations of elicitors which stimulated more the polyphenols production were retained. Their effectiveness time on polyphenols production in cotton leaves after application was evaluated. The results revealed that the oligosaccharide fraction 11 (10 %) allowed a large polyphenols accumulation as MeJA. It has a shelf life of 45 days after application while that of 5 mM MeJA is 30 days. The results suggest that a natural molecule such as oligosaccharides could be considered as a treatment to increase the resistance of cotton FOV. However, it would be necessary to apply a second application 45 days after the first to maintain polyphenols production at a high level. This article mainly highlights the use of elicitors such as fungal oligosaccharide aimed at limiting chemical control in cotton culture.
